How to confirm the floating voltage of battery?

A: When floating use VRLA battery, the charge voltage must keep invariableness, and the input electricity should be enough to compensate the loss due to self-discharge and the demand of oxygen cycle. Furthermore the battery will be sure that is full capacity in comparative short time, which has been discharged, thus the battery can keep full capacity in a long period. Meanwhile choice of this voltage should reduce the damage caused by overcharge to minimum.

Confirmation of the floating voltage is related with electrolyte density. Normally the floating voltage of Sacred Sun Enduro series is 2.24-2.28 VpC, for Powerline and Thunder both are2.25-2.29 VpC .

When uniform charge needed for VRLA battery?

A: Normally VRLA battery need not to be uniform charged in time ,which is different from flooded battery, because VRLA battery does not exist stratification of electrolyte after a period running like flooded battery. Even stratification of electrolyte happened,a period of uniform charge can do nothing but speed up the loss of limited electrolyte. But the battery can be uniform charged for a period with ascending voltage when in below situations:

1、The place where battery applied is out of electricity, so the battery need discharge frequently.
2、There is failed battery which voltage is less than 2.18V in the group.

What is the relationship between temperature and floating voltage?

A:Floating voltage should compensate accordingly with change of temperature. To be strict, during the process of operating, when temperature rise 1℃, the floating voltage should fall 3.5mV/pc accordingly and vice versa.

What is cyclic service Life?

A: It means how many cyclic times that VRLA battery could charge and discharge. Generally one charge-discharge is regarded as one cycle. Cyclic service life is one of the most important indexes of VRLA battery.

Does over-charge have impact on the battery service life?

A: After charging according to prescriptive period, if we still charge with voltage which exceed the floating voltage will cause overcharge. And overcharge will cause additional water loss and accelerated corrosion of grid. More serious overcharge will make cases bulged and lose control of caloric, finally the service life reduced.

What is sulphatization of battery?

A: Sulphatization shaped when sulfuration lead deposit on the plate surface and pores of active material. If there are much more sulfuration lead or big crystals have been shaped, battery can't work effectively. There are two reasons may cause sulphatizaion: I. Always overcharge. II: There is no charge in a long period after discharge.
